F2B301A: Evaluation, analysis, design of systems software

Coordinator:

Presentation

Producing major systems software, which makes specific demands of viability, maintenance and ergonomy is a complex task requiring the setting up of a range of competences in the software engineering domain.
In fact such production implies:
being able to specify in a complete and unambiguous manner the demands of such systems,
being able to evaluate them and follow their evolution
coordinating complex software developments by contracting out or re-using,
developing systems architecture in function of required demands, and being able to ensure the quality of the finished product through guanantees of assurance and quality control.
This course will give students a concrete example to evaluate, analyse and improve in function of specific demands.
The case study will introduce the problems associated with a change of scale (to larger systems).
