SAH-MAI: Intercultural Adaptation Module

This course provides an introduction to French and European civilisation. It takes the form of a series of lectures / discussions / Q&A sessions with a variety of guest speakers and visits.
Students are also required to work on a project related to economics.

Objectives

The objective of this course is to enable students to fit in with the local environment, with life on the campus, in France and in Europe.

Duration: 48h

CONFERENCES
Conference participants include:
*Local and national journalists
*Local artists and historians

VISITS
In the past, visits to certain local centres took place at :
*A telecommunications cable-laying ship, based in Brest
*OCEANOPOLIS (an Exhibition Centre to do with the world’s Oceans, fauna and flora)
*Local festivals

PROJECT
Projects (performed in pairs) are industrially-oriented and require the students to investigate the worldwide activities of several large, French companies (France Telecom, Air France, ALCATEL …), to make a short presentation on the main features of each company, and to prepare a "Curriculum Vitae" asking for employment with one of the companies.
