The goals of the "UV Métiers 1A" (1Y Career Credit) are (1) to know oneself so as to actually make one's own choices (analyzing talents, choosing a professional project, building up a plan action), (2) to clarify one's education choices (majors/minors, semester abroad, languages, intersemester consistent with wishes), (3) to discover an engineer career (discovering the competence concept and its implementation with respect to careers, undergoing, if necessary, a proper summer training period in relationship with a field of activity, especially as regards technical subjects).
Ath the end of the first year, you should be able to (1) identify your personal assets and weaknesses, (2) define your personal wishes, (3) design one to three career paths for your first job in consistence with your "dream", (4) justify your choices as regards majirs/minors, intersmester [credits] and languages, (5) know the large range of engineer careers, (6) obtain a valuable summer training period, (7) motivate your request for a trainign period abroad.
The practicalities are (1) a personality test, (2) a few workshops such as "My Dream", "Competences", "Professional Project", (3) [JI] testimonies, (4) tools to prepare a relevant curriculum and an [argument].
