RES 431 A: Network Security fundamentals

Coordinator:  Ahmed BOUABDALLAH

Presentation

This module covers the problem of network performance assessment via a quantative approach. Various criteria dealing with quality of network service are introduced (blocking or loss probability, waiting time, network reliability), then the values of these criteria are calculated according to the network parametres.
These calculations can then be used to determine the parametres of a network corresponding to the desired quality of service. Other subjects seen are network dimensioning and an introduction to specification and setting up of a protocol.
