  Presentation

The purpose of this course is the discovery of research issues in preparation for a PhD.

The general knowledge part represents 3 teaching modules (20h; 4 ECTS), selected by the student among the 4 proposed ones. The courses are attended locally or remotely via videoconference. They are evaluated each year and may be renewed every two years.
The teaching modules of the common-core syllabus are: Data Analysis and Stochastic Modelings (ADM), Introduction to Distributed Computing (ASR), and Models and Formalities (MF).

More information: http://master.irisa.fr/index.php/en/

Notice that the general knowledge part in Brest includes the course Knowledge, models and paradigms (CMP) which is shared by the two tracks proposed in Brest.

Goals :
  • (ASR) to know the nature of distribution, of logical time, of the distributed control and the associated algorithms
  • to know the principles and concepts of knowledge modeling, their limits, with an application to multi-agent systems and interactive machine learning.
  • (ADM) to describe statistically datasets, model problems and estimate the unknown parameters
  • to explain and to apply a modeling approach using formal tools (mathematics) or semi-formal (diagrams)
