This unit provides an in depth study of the various components of communication and navigation space systems. Earth stations, telecommunication and navigation terminals, satellite telecommunication payloads and satellite plateforms are addressed. The unit also encompasses the environmental effects that impact communication.
 
Objectifs pédagogiques :
  • To be able to evaluate globally (ground and space segment) the performance of a telecommunication system and to identify the relevant trade-offs
  • To be able to understand the role, positioning and technical challenges of each component of a space system
